IRES (Institute for Russian and Eurasian Studies) is part of Uppsala University (Sweden). Uppsala University was founded in 1477. It is currently one of Europe's leading universities and is one of Sweden's top, as well as among the world's top 100 in all disciplines. IRES is a research institute that also hosts an international MA program in Eurasian and Russian studies, including focus on Central Asia, the Arctic, and Eastern Europe.
